Our story began six years ago, when we met and fell in love at first sight. At the time, Natalie was running a successful wedding photography and film company in the United States, while Roberto - an award-winning travel videographer and photographer from Italy - had just graduated from the New York Film Academy.
After getting married, we decided to combine our creative visions and build something together. That shared dream led to the founding of our boutique wedding film and photography company, Romantica Films, now based in the breathtaking Lake Como, Italy.
Our style was deeply inspired by a meaningful discovery-Roberto’s grandfather’s Super 8 film camera. Holding a piece of his family’s history sparked something in us: a desire to blend the nostalgic, timeless texture of vintage film with the clarity and beauty of modern digital. The result is a signature cinematic style that captures weddings with emotion, artistry, and an enduring sense of romance.

Hi, I’m Roberto, and I capture love stories through refined, high-quality photography and films designed to become family heirlooms for generations to come.
I grew up in Italy, surrounded by creativity. My grandfather filmed precious family moments on Super 8 and 16mm. Watching him transform everyday memories into something artistic and beautiful left a lasting impression on me.
Following in his footsteps, I became an award-winning travel photographer and videographer, eventually going on to study cinematography at the New York Film Academy.
Not long after, I met my wife, Natalie, who introduced me to the world of wedding storytelling. Together, we documented hundreds of weddings across the globe. When we got married, it felt natural to combine our creative visions and build something of our own - Romantica Films.
But it was the rediscovery of my grandfather’s Super 8 camera that truly defined our artistic direction. It sparked a vision: to blend the nostalgic, timeless texture of film with my background in cinema to tell your love story in a way that feels deeply personal and true.
Today, inspired by the romance of my home, Italy, and the timeless beauty of Lake Como, we craft wedding films and photography that are as enduring as the stories they tell-capturing your love with intention and artistry.

Hi, I’m Natalie. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and for over a decade I’ve been capturing the love stories of hundreds of couples through my wedding photography and film company that I founded, Once Upon a Time Photo & Film.
My background is in cinema-I hold a Master’s degree in Film from the University of St Andrews-and I began my career working on Hollywood productions before being drawn to something more personal: real love stories. My passion for storytelling started in narrative film, including directing a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet that premiered at festivals across the United States. But it was while working on the tv show Say Yes to the Dress that I truly saw the beauty and emotion of authentic love stories, inspiring me to pursue wedding filmmaking full-time.
After meeting my husband, Roberto, and getting married, we founded Romantica Films together-now based in his home country of Italy. Blending our backgrounds in cinema with a shared passion for storytelling, we create wedding films that are both artistic and deeply meaningful.
My goal is simple: to bring a touch of movie magic to your love story.
